Johnathon Schaech marries

While everyone else was watching fireworks, going to barbecues and possibly drinking too much over the Fourth of July holiday, Christina Applegate's ex-husband, actor Johnathon Schaech, and One Tree Hill's Jana Kramer got hitched.

Legally ending their individual independence, Johnathon Schaech and Jana Kramer tied the knot on Independence Day in Glen Arbor, Michigan in front of 100 friends and family members.

The couple met while filming 2008's Prom Night and became engaged in December 2009 at a skating rink Johnathan rented out for the occasion.

Word is Johnathon Schaech's skating skills didn't quite match up to his now wife's abilities, who has been skating since she was a kid, but that obviously didn't deter her from saying yes to his proposal.

According to OK! Magazine, the bride wore a Jim Hjelm custom made gown and was accompanied by Jim Hjelm clad bridesmaids.

Jana Kramer, 26, has played starlet Alex Dupre on One Tree Hill since 2009 and has also been seen as recurring characters on Entourage, 90210 and Friday Night Lights.

Schaech, 40, divorced Christina Applegate in 2007 after almost four years of marriage when she was caught cheating and aside from Prom Night, might best be known as the guitarist-singer in 1996's That Thing You Do.

Earlier today, SheKnows was on the red carpet at the CMA Awards. We had the pleasure of speaking with newcomer Brantley Gilbert, who dished on his budding relationship with Jana Kramer.

SheKnows was on hand at the CMA Awards to break some serious couple news. For a while, singers Brantley Gilbert and Jana Kramer have been spotted together, fueling dating rumors.

Today, we got to the bottom of it all. We got the inside scoop on their romance.

SheKnows asked Gilbert if he and Kramer were an item, and he confessed, "Yes."

He also confirmed that they spent New York Fashion Week together.

"I had to go to New York because I was getting the top half of my [tattoo] sleeve done for the show New York Ink. It just so happened to be the same week as Fashion Week. But it worked out good. I got to hang out with her. [We] went to a couple parties."

If Gilbert doesn't seem like the couture type, it's because he's not.

He admits, "I was a little bit out of my skin... I'm in there with holey jeans and a wife beater on the eighth floor of Saks [Fifth] Avenue, looking at women's shoes."

Now that's real love.

Kramer didn't get into detail about the relationship, but she did call her boyfriend "the best guy I know."

She kept comments about their love life low key but was completely open about her amazing gown. It was from designer Anthony Franco, and she thanked her publicist for getting it for her.

As for Gilbert, he'll spend the rest of the night duking it out with his country peers. The singer is up for one of the biggest CMA Awards — New Artist of the Year.

ACAs nominee Jana Kramer talked to SheKnows about her awful birthday and the super sweet effort her boyfriend, Brantley Gilbert, made to make it up to her.

Will Jana Kramer have a future in figure skating? Probably not. Her boyfriend, Brantley Gilbert, may have helped seal the deal on their future, though, with a romantic figure skating date.

After her spending her actual birthday in a hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida, Jana Kramer deserved a little fun. That's exactly what her boyfriend, Brantley Gilbert, planned for her, too. Gilbert may be one of the latest round of country bad boys, but he was a soft side. Especially when it comes to his girl.

"The day after my birthday was awesome," Kramer told SheKnows. "My boyfriend rented out an ice rink and took me figure skating."

How romantic!

She certainly deserved such sweet treatment after how she spent her birthday. Kramer was in West Palm Beach preparing to perform when she tweeted that she'd been feeling ill. Once on stage, though, it became apparent that she was in no shape to perform. Her show was cut short and Kramer was whisked to the hospital.

She spent her birthday evening in the hospital with a 101 temperature under the supervision of doctors, nurses, her boyfriend and manager. A few IVs later and the flu victim was sent off to recover. She canceled the next night's show, too, as she worked on feeling better.

She tweeted to her fans, "Terribly sorry I'm missin' the show tonight in Tampa. I got out of the hospital this morning and still really sick. I will make it up to y'all."

Jana Kramer's career blew up this year. When we met up with her at the American Country Awards, she was a beaming but gracious nominee in three categories. She was determined that her buddy, Hunter Hayes, would sweep all his categories, though.

Her name may sound familiar even to our non-country music fans. She played Alexa Dupre on The CW's One Tree Hill. These days, however, she's playing herself and taking Nashville by storm. Her self-titled album, featuring her smash single "Why You Wanna," recently earned her the accolade of highest debut album from a female artist.

"I'm packed until 2014,"Jana Kramer told SheKnows on the American Country Awards' red carpet on Monday.

Jana Kramer shared that her 2013 plans include two tours.

"We have two really great tours lined up that I can't talk about, unfortunately," Kramer lamented. "But I promise it's awesome"

Hopefully, during her busy 2013, she'll also find time to make it up to Tampa, Florida. Last week, Kramer was so sick with the flu, she was taken to the hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida, and forced to cancel the next night's concert in Tampa.

The details on her new tours are still top secret, but here's hoping she finds time to reschedule Tampa and that she comes to a town near you.

The year 2012 was an insanely busy and incredibly successful one for Kramer. She was part of the ACAs' "new voices" showcase. Now she also holds the title of highest-ranking debut by a female artist for her new, self-titled album featuring her hit song, "Why You Wanna."

After such an amazing 2012, what are her goals for 2013?

"Just to be positive and happy," she said.

Don't expect her back on your television screen anytime soon, either. With two tours and her album continuing to find its way onto radio airwaves, music is her priority. With tour twos ahead, when would she even find time to be on a set?

Jana Kramer is a girl full of surprises. She was born in Detroit, which would make her seem more suited for rap battles with Eminem than for releasing a chart-topping country album.

The fact that she released an album at all seemed pretty surprising at first, too, considering Kramer first made a name for herself in Hollywood, not Nashville, and as an actress, not a singer. Despite starring in a couple films, Kramer was best known for her role as Alexa Dupre on One Tree Hill. That is, until she released her first single.

There's no going back now, though. With three ACA nominations under her belt, there's no way Nashville will relinquish her.

We have a total crush on Jana Kramer's chic 'do. Find out why in this week's installment of Celeb Hairstyle of the Week!

Aww. That was my first reaction when I saw Jana Kramer's recent look at last week's American Country Awards! She just looks so pretty and elegant! Jana always looks amazing, but this 'do is a step above the rest, if you ask me. The curls are so delicately placed and frame her face perfectly. Her makeup is quite darling too!

I headed straight to the source to get the scoop on how to steal Jana's 'do and asked her stylist, Kelsey Deenihan, for a how-to. Here we go!

Get the hair look!

  1. I started out by blow drying Jana's hair with a large round brush to smooth out any flyaways.
  2. Next, in small sections, I used a 1-inch curling iron and wrapped sections around the barrel going away from the face, spraying each section with a light hairspray to hold the curl.
  3. I let the hair set while I did makeup, and about 45 minutes later, I took a flat boar bristle brush and brushed all the curls out giving it a ton of volume and an Old Hollywood look.

It's official: Bad-boy country singer Brantley Gilbert is engaged to his girlfriend, One Tree Hill star Jana Kramer.

Brantley Gilbert got his 28th birthday wish: His girlfriend, singer and former One Tree Hill actress Jana Kramer, accepted his marriage proposal.

"We could not be happier!" the couple said Monday, according to People. "We are so excited to share this special time with our loved ones and cannot wait to start the rest of our lives together."

Kramer later admitted that she wasn't expecting it — and she had no idea the lengths he went to in securing her family's approval.

"I was so surprised!" the 29-year-old told People. "He asked my mom for permission before he proposed, which meant a lot to me."

The marriage will be the first for Gilbert, but the second for Kramer: She married Johnathon Schaech in July of 2010, but they split just a month later.

Her tumultuous first marriage might be the reason why she played coy about their year-long relationship. The actress told SheKnows at the CMA Awards in November that they were just having fun, even though he's "the best guy I know."

Gilbert, on the other hand, wasn't secretive about it. He confirmed their relationship and even talked about their experience together at New York Fashion Week last September.
